Audit any video, including the ones you do not own

Most YouTube tools install into your own Studio and work on your own channel. This one takes a video ID and audits it from outside, which is what a competitor teardown or a new client pitch actually needs.

Every number on this page came from a real run.

Video Audit

Any video ID, no access needed

Paste a video ID and get views, likes, comments, duration, subscriber count and views per hour, plus an itemised optimisation breakdown. It works on channels you have never touched, which is what makes it useful for pitching.

  • Works from a video ID alone, no OAuth, no extension
  • Engagement rate with the division printed underneath
  • Tag list, description and title checks
  • Same for a competitor's channel as for a client's
What the printed ratio changes

1.59% from 66.4K likes over 4.2M views, against bands of above 4% great, 2 to 4% average, below 2% low.

A reader can verify that in their head. A bare '1.59% — Low' cannot be checked at all.

What this actually means

Engagement rate is likes divided by views, expressed as a percentage. It is a ratio, not a count, so it says nothing about how many people watched. A video with millions of views can score low and a small video can score high, and both readings are correct, because the measure is proportion rather than reach.

Reach and engagement rate are different measurements

The video above has 4.2 million views from a 2.5 million subscriber channel, and it scores low at 1.59%. That is not the tool being wrong. Views are a level; engagement rate is a proportion. Reading one as the other is the most common mistake made with this number.

The arithmetic is printed, so you can check it

66.4K likes ÷ 4.2M views × 100 sits under the figure. You do not have to trust the percentage, and you do not have to guess whether comments were included. Most tools show you a number and a colour and leave you to assume.

A score is made of parts, and the parts are shown

Tags, description length and engagement ratio each carry their own weight and their own result. A single headline number hides which one is dragging, and the one that is dragging is the only one you can act on.

Questions

Before you start

No. The audit takes a video ID and reads what YouTube already publishes. There is no sign-in, no OAuth and no browser extension, which is why it works on a competitor's channel as easily as your own.

No, and we would rather say so. If you run a YouTube channel, a dedicated creator tool that installs into your Studio will do far more for you and costs less. This exists so an agency can audit a client's channel alongside their site, their local presence and their AI visibility, in one report.

Because engagement rate is likes divided by views. It measures proportion, not reach. A very large audience makes the denominator large, so a low percentage on a huge video is normal and is not a fault in the video or in the measurement.

Likes over views, times one hundred. Comments are reported separately and are not folded in. The division is printed under the figure so there is nothing to assume.
