Know what the top 10 share, and what only you can add
AI can write a post in 30 seconds. It cannot tell you why it is not ranking. Dorqa reads the top 10 Google results for your keyword, counts what they have in common, and compares your page or draft. Nothing is generated, so nothing is made up.
Every number on this page came from a real run on our own blog.
From one real run on our own blog. The score is a comparison, not a ranking forecast.
Ten ranking pages, read and counted
Ask an AI chat what the top Google results have in common and you get an answer with no way to check it. Dorqa reads the pages ranking today for your keyword and market, and counts. Every number on the page shows how it was counted.
- Phrases and words the ranking pages share
- Terms they put in their headings
- Entities Google’s Natural Language API recognises in them
- People Also Ask questions, and whether your page answers them
- Title formats, word count range and freshness
- Google’s answer box, and whether an AI Overview was shown
Phrases 21 of 29. Headings 18 of 37. Entities 14 of 17. At 3,384 words the page sat above the 1,077 to 2,627 range of the pages that rank.
Headings were the gap. Nothing else on the page said so.
60 of 80 figures on no ranking page
most from 2022 reportsUnique is not always good
We ran it on our own Facebook statistics page first. It had 102 figures. Of the first 80, 60 appeared on none of the 7 ranking pages. Most sat next to “at present” with no date. A figure no ranking page states is one of three things: your own data, a historical figure, or out of date.
- Every figure on your page, with the text around it
- Whether any ranking page states the same number
- The year written closest to it, in red when it is 2024 or earlier
- You decide which are yours and which need replacing
Sales calls, support tickets and demos are full of what your buyers actually ask. No tool can find those for you. Add them in the Your angle box and Dorqa checks they made it into the draft.
Google’s questions tell you what people search. Yours tell you what they need.
Real questions, not guessed ones
AI search splits one query into many smaller ones. Google calls this query fan-out, and nobody outside Google can see those queries. Tools that list them are asking an AI to guess. People Also Ask questions come from Google itself, they are real searches, and you can check their search volume.
- People Also Ask questions for your keyword, from the live results
- Which of them your page already answers
- Related searches from the same results page
- Your buyers’ own questions, added by you
The part the top 10 cannot give you
Matching the ranking pages only gets you level with them. Google’s own guidance asks whether content adds original information, research or analysis. An AI chat cannot add that, because it only knows what is already published. Draft mode has a box for what you did, measured or saw yourself.
- Write your first-hand experience, data and examples in one place
- Dorqa checks whether each figure and term from it reached your draft
- Drafts are scored on the server with the same counting code
- Dorqa never writes the angle for you
The ranking pages give you the floor: what a page on this topic is expected to cover. Your angle is what lifts it above that.
Guidelines from the top 10. Information gain from you.
- Content Optimize and CreateOne page for a live URL, a draft, or guidelines only
- Content Audit: FreshnessA page’s own dates, or a whole blog from its sitemap
- Entity ResearchThe named things Google’s Natural Language API finds in a page
- Internal LinkingLink suggestions from the words people search to reach each page
Google Docs, WordPress and Search Console
Content Intelligence fits the tools you already use, so a draft does not have to be retyped to be checked.
- Google Docs: paste in with headings, lists, links and tables kept, then copy back out formatted
- WordPress: connect with an Application Password, pick a post, send a new draft back
- Dorqa only creates drafts. It never publishes or changes a live post
- Search Console: the searches your page already gets, one click to use as the keyword
- Saved runs: reopen any past analysis without spending credits
Every check, and how it is counted
The same rules the app prints under each result, in one place.
Content Optimize and Create
- Three modes: optimize a live URL, write a draft, or get guidelines only
- Keyword plus market: the top 10 organic results for that country, read live
- Phrases and words the ranking pages share, with how many pages use each
- Terms the ranking pages put in their headings
- Entities: found with Google’s Natural Language API, counted across the ranking pages
- People Also Ask questions and related searches, and whether your page answers them
- Title formats the ranking pages use
- Word count: the middle half of the ranking pages (25th to 75th percentile) and the median
- Freshness: each page’s published and updated dates, shown as dates
- Google’s answer box: the featured snippet’s text or table and the page that holds it, and whether an AI Overview was shown
- Score: phrases 50, headings 15, length 20, entities 15. Printed on the page
- Untick a ranking page that does not belong and the shared counts update, free
- One site holding 3 or more ranking pages triggers a warning; under 3 readable pages left, Dorqa says not to use the result
- Results are kept for 48 hours per keyword and market, so a repeat run is free
Figures and your angle
- Every figure on your page, with the text around it
- Whether any ranking page states the same number
- The year written nearest to the figure, red when it is 2024 or earlier, “no year” when none is written
- Your angle box: first-hand experience, your own numbers, results you have seen. Nothing in it is written or scored by Dorqa
- Figures are matched as written. Words of 4 or more letters and acronyms such as CPM count; common words are left out
- Green means it is in your draft, grey means not yet
Content Audit
- Overview: nine page checks, each shown with its real value: title tag, meta description, one H1, image alt text, internal links in the article, HTTPS, structured data, indexable, at least 300 words
- Target keyword is optional; leave it blank and Dorqa detects it
- Entity Analysis tab for the same page
- Freshness: a page’s own published and updated dates and the newest year it mentions, free
- Or a whole blog from its sitemap: dates by year and the oldest pages, 5 credits
Entity Research
- Analyze a URL, pasted text, or a topic
- Entities, salience and Knowledge Graph links from Google’s Natural Language API
- Add a keyword and your page is compared with the top 10 organic results for the market, 10 credits
- A ranking page counts as mentioning an entity when Natural Language finds it in the first 3,000 characters of its article text
- For entities linked to the Knowledge Graph, a whole-word match anywhere in the article also counts
- “In text” means the name appears in your text but Natural Language did not list it, so it has no salience
Internal Linking
- Reads every page in your sitemap and maps the links between them
- Suggests a link where one page already uses the exact words people search in Google to reach another, from your Search Console
- Lists pages with at most one link from another page’s content
- Flags internal links that point to an old address that redirects
- Counts links inside page content only. Menu, header and footer links are not counted
- Each suggestion has a score and an anchor; mark it accepted, added or dismissed, filter, and export
Search Console, Docs and WordPress
- Search Console: the searches that showed this page in Google, from your own property, over the last 90 days ending on Google’s latest available date. Top 20 by impressions, with clicks and average position. Free
- Google Docs paste: headings, lists, bold, italic, links and tables are kept
- Images with a lasting address stay in the draft; Google Docs’ temporary image links are dropped and counted so you can re-add them; images without alt text are flagged
- Google Docs copy: the draft goes back out formatted, headings and lists intact
- WordPress: connect with an Application Password, stored encrypted and never shown again
- Search your posts, load one into Dorqa, send a new draft back. Dorqa never publishes or changes a live post
- A warning when the WordPress site is not the project’s domain
- Saved runs: your last 100 analyses, reopened without credits
What it does not do
We would rather you know these before you start than find them after.
- It does not check whether your content is accurate or well written. That is still your job
- It works one page and one keyword at a time. Planning topics across a whole site is next
- Pages that block automated reading are listed as could not be read and left out of every count
- WordPress posts built with a page builder such as Elementor may not load cleanly into a draft
- When one site fills the results, Dorqa warns you instead of scoring you against it
- The score measures closeness to the pages that rank. It does not predict rankings
On “facebook statistics” one site held 6 of the 9 ranking pages. A score against that would have measured one site’s template, not the topic.
So Dorqa says so, and tells you not to use the result.
What information gain means
Information gain is what a page adds that the pages already ranking for the same search do not have: first-hand experience, original data, or a view none of them states. A tool can show you what the ranking pages share. It cannot supply what none of them has. That part has to come from you.
Matching is the floor, not the ceiling
Covering what the ranking pages cover makes a page comparable to them. It does not give anyone a reason to prefer it. The difference has to come from something they do not have.
A unique figure can be a stale one
A number no ranking page states might be your own research. It might also be three years old. The year next to it is how you tell.
AI can rephrase, not report
An AI chat can reword what is already published. It cannot have run your test, taken your sales call or measured your results. That is exactly the part worth adding.
Part of the SEO layer
Content Intelligence sits inside SEO Intelligence, on the same project and credits as the other five layers. How we check our data: data quality.
Before you start
No. It reads the ranking pages, counts what they share and compares your page or draft to them. Nothing is generated, so nothing is made up. The writing, and your angle, stay with you.
It is the share of what the ranking pages have in common that your page also has, weighted phrases 50, headings 15, length 20 and entities 15. The weights are our choice and are printed on the page. A higher score means closer to the pages that rank. It does not predict rankings.
AI search splits one query into many smaller ones. Google calls this query fan-out, and nobody outside Google can see those queries. Tools that list them are asking an AI to guess. People Also Ask questions come from Google itself, they are real searches, and you can check their search volume.
A number on your page whose nearest written year is 2024 or earlier. Dorqa lists every figure with the text around it and says whether any ranking page states it, so you can check each one yourself.
Yes. Paste a draft from Google Docs and the headings, lists and links are kept; copy it back out formatted. Connect WordPress with an Application Password, pick a post, and send a new draft back. Dorqa only creates drafts. It never publishes or changes a live post.
